Four Winter Break Busy Activities

Puzzles

Puzzles are a classic mind buster, perfect for hours of entertainment. While this usually is not every child’s first choice, setting additional rules to the puzzle can be more enjoyable. Create a race to finish the puzzle, igniting competition against the clock.  Have a prize each time a puzzle is completed for an extra treat!

Baking

The most obvious answer to keeping kids busy is to have them help bake and cook for the holiday celebrations. Teach them a family recipe, or see the article below for other fun treats.

Make a Fort

Design a castle using all your spare household blankets. Pile up the pillows and let your children’s minds wander. Throw some books and small toys under the fort, and the kids will relax and play simultaneously.

Cut Paper Snowflakes

If you’re a little one who likes arts and crafts, this may be the perfect activity to keep your kids busy. There are very minimal supplies needed, and it requires almost zero cleanup. See the link below for a step-by-step on how to make paper snowflakes.

It’s hard to keep kids entertained for the entirety of their winter break, and often tiring. We hope these ideas bring new life to your home and assist in your winter break with your kids. While winter is a great time to enjoy crafts or baking, we want you to remember to stay healthy around the holidays and focus on washing your hands before doing any activities. This will keep your kids healthy and happy and pinworms out of your house.
